You did not have to accept me but you did. Then do not make me lose confidence in friendship by betraying me.

Book Review 1: Born At Midnight - by CC Hunter

Hello once again dear readers, I know I haven't been writing regularly. However, this is so as I have had a lot to deal with the past few weeks. Those of you out there who are reading this, I love you! Thank you for not giving up on me even though I did not give you any thing to read for a long time. Please do recommend my blog to your friends and even family (if you think I am good). I will try to make it up to you. Anyway, back to the main point of today's blog the very 1st book review I am doing. Also the 1st book in the shadow falls novel series, let's welcome the book of the day, BORN AT MIDNIGHT by the superb writer, C.C. Hunter!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of book: Born At Midnight
Author: C. C. Hunter
Number of pages: 398
Book's summary: Don't miss this spectacular new series that will steal your heart and haunt your dreams. Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen......
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls– a camp for troubled teens– and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren't just "troubled." here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, and fairies train side by side, learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie never felt normal, but surely she doesn't belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks, either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn't complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek' a half Fae who's determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin' hot werewolve with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Derek and Lucas couldn't be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.
Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear: Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs ......
My review:
About Kylie Galen: Kylie Galen is a typical girl who just wants to find out where she belongs. Her life isn't exactly smooth sailing or as she would call it, her life is toilet bound. Her summer is as she would say, "toilet bound and at the rate things are going, someone was going to walk by and flush her life down the toilet bowl". And she has a very good reson to say so. Her parents are getting a divorce, her closest Nana is dead, her boyfriend broke up with her and she has just found out that she was not all-human. Sounds pretty suckish huh?

About Kylie Galen's Life As A Human: Kylie has a bestie named Sara. In the book, Sara went through a pregnacy scare. As Kylie being Kylie, she focused on Sarah's problem instead of her own. That is what we call "The Kylie Galen's Way To Solving A Problem". She also HAD a boyfriend called Trey who broke up with her because she wouldn't go all the way with him and yes, Kylie's still a virgin.

About Kylie Galen's Life As a Non-Human: Kylie has 2 best friends by the name of Miranda and Della. Find out more about Della with the books, Turn At Dark and Saved At Sunrise. I am ashamed to say that I have yet to get the two Della books but will try to get the soon at the popular bookfair. Anyway, her list of friends at Shadow Falls camp goes from Della, a vampire, to Marinda, a witch, to Derek, a half fairy, to Lucas, a werewolf, to Holiday, also a fairy, to Helen, a fairy, to Perry, a shapeshifter. She struggles to chose between the patient half Fae and the smokin' hot werewolf who each have their intimidate moments with Kylie. Still, she didn't go all the way with them.

Well that pretty much sums up the book. To get more details of each incident in Kylie's life, got get the book now! U.P. S$19.21

My Favourite Quotes From Goodreads:

  1. “His eyes widened. Oh, hell, you think I'm going to let him bite me? No way. It's too risky and way too guy.”
  2. “Kylie watched as his shirttail upward, exposing a very hard abdomen. The hem of his shirt inched higher, and she took in the cutest inny belly button she'd ever seen. And then his chest. Solid. Hard. A few drops of water glistened against his skin. Hear heart beat to the sound of passion again.”
  3. “That’s the tricky thing about love. It walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck. But after you sleep with it a month or so, or get dumped at the altar by it, it starts smelling more like a skunk.”
  4. “Did you found something? asked she with hope.
    Yes, this until...
    Until what...?
Until you stick your breasts on my back. And you realize that now I can't think about lions anymore!”
  5. "And this is what you get for laughing at me." He pulled her up a few inches until his lips touched hers.”
  6. “Personally for me, wearing a thong is like flossing your ass”

Ermm...... Hi!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone out there!!!!!
I'm really new to this so forgive me for weird stuff that I write. I will just write whenever I have the time and inspiration. I was actually inspired to start a blog by my cousin who writes stories very well. I shall try my hand at it but I know I will never be as good as her. Mostly I will be writing "book reviews" about books which I have read so any avid bookworms like myself can also be exposed to greater variety of books. Please comment on what I write and give me some advise so I can improve. I might also touch on some philosophical questions. Write to me at keejessy.jk@gmail.com. Also, check out my cousin's superb stories at twisparkle.blogspot.sg. I welcome useful criticism and will try my best to ignore the bad ones. As I will be starting Secondary 1 soon, I will not be writing everyday. As a result, I seek your understanding. Thank you and hope you will find the stories nice and the books I recommend interesting. Be happy.
